When To Go To Wonosobo

Wonosobo is a subdistrict which is the capital of the Wonosobo District and part of the region the Cnetral Java Province. Wonosobo is one of the natural tourist destination which popular. The location is beside to the Dieng mountain area makes the very beautiful view there.

Sikunir is the most favorite tourist destination in Wonosobo. Sikunir is a favorite destination for sunrise hunting because it offers a very beautiful panorama of sunrise from an altitude of 2300 masl. To reach the peak, usually takes 30-60 minutes depend on the physical of visitor. Fatigue during the process to reach the peak of Sikunir will be gone because the view of Sikunir that is so wonderfull. The best time to visit the Sikunir is in the dry season because in that season most likely the panorama of the sunrise isn't covered by fog.

Telaga Warna is one of the tourist destination when visiting Wonosobo. If you come here in the dry season, the water of Telaga Warna will change color from red, green, blue, and yellow. Myth, the color change that occured is because the Cupu Manik Astagina heritage which fell. But if according to the research, the water color change is because the ecosystem around the lake contains a lot of sulfur and when it's highlight by the sunlight the color of water will changed.

 

Kawah Sikidang is an active crater that still release volcanic material, but it's still safe to visit. Called 'Sikidang', becasue this crater is believed always to move somewhere. The views of volcanic crater that's beautifull are the main attraction for tourists to visit here. Visitors can do a lot of tourist activities in the natural beauty of the mountains with a cheap entry price and the location of the crater that is easy to reach.

 

Beside the beautiful nature, there's many authentic culinary in Wonosobo which one is 'Mie ongklok'. Mie ongklok is made from noodles, cabbage, chives leaves mixed with starched thick peanut sauce which is commonly say 'loh'. Mie Ongklok is usually served with goat satay and also tempeh kemul. The delicious taste will make anyone addicted after trying Mie Ongklok which are the main icon in Wonosobo.
